PLANTING GLOVES
  May 8
 glove may 8th
We made our planting gloves on May 8.  We placed two very damp cotton balls in each finger of a clear plastic glove. We used white and colored cotton balls.  We planted a pumpkin seed in white cotton (thumb), a corn seed  in the yellow cotton, a lima bean seed in the purple cotton, a pea seed in the pink cotton, and a sunflower seed in the purple ccotton. We then tied off the top of the gloves and hung them in our back window.

Our first seed has sent out a root.  It is a sunflower seed.

Lot of seeds have sprouted.  The sunflowers are growing the quickest. Some of the sunflowers already have their first leaves.  We also have lots of lima beans that have sprouted roots. A few corn, pea, and pumpkin have sprouted roots.

We had lots of growth over the week-end. Many of our plants are as tall as the glove and need to be transplanted. We took our gloves home on May 18th. To remove the plants you cut the bottom of the finger and slide the cotton balls and plant out.  Then you can plant your plant in soil.
