Choice Time
Library Area- Snow White Books
To go along with our Snow White study we will be adding various Snow White related literature to the library area. The students will have the opportunity to explore/interact with these books throughout the day.

Question of the Day
What would you ask a magic mirror?
After reading our story, Snow White, We will discuss what we would ask a magic mirror. We will create a list of the students' answers to review and compare. We will also discuss why we think the queen asked the mirror, "Who's the fairest of them all?".

Large Group
Arrival Routine
Upon entering the classroom each student will go to the restroom to wash their hands before breakfast. After washing their hands the students will set up their tables for breakfast by setting out the proper tableware and utensils for that specific meal. We will then sit together and serve breakfast family style with the students. Once finished eating the students will sit on the carpet with a book while waiting for everyone to be
complete. After all of the students have finished eating they will put their books away and sit on the edge of the carpet for circle time.

Today we will review the class rules and count our friends in both English and Spanish. We will then sing the days of the week song while updating the calendar. After calendar the class will use the song charts to sing some of our favorite circle time songs. We will then go over our question of the day while introducing new
vocabulary words and tapping into our higher order thinking skills. The letter of the week is Yy, the number is 9, the shape is square, and the color is green.Today's question is "What would you ask a magic mirror?"

Purpose for Reading: To introduce the story of Snow White to go along with our art show
projects.
Vocabulary: Dwarf, Queen, Magic, Fairest,

Before Reading: We will discuss the various print concepts including directionality,
author/illustrator, and the parts of a book. Ask the children: "Who do you think Snow White is?"
During Reading: Actively comment and take the time to discuss vocabulary words and the main characters thoughts and actions. "Why do you think the queen wants to be the fairest of them all?" "How is snow white different than the queen?" "How do you think the apple poisoned Snow White?"
After Reading: Review vocabulary words with students while writing them on the "word" portion of our class focus board. Ask the students "Do you think Snow White and the prince lived happily ever after?"

Foil Mirrors
Today we will be creating mirrors to go along with the story, Snow White. The students will be cutting a mirror shape with a handle using thin cardboard. They will then put a piece of aluminum foil on the cardboard to act as the reflection. After the mirrors are created the students will decorate them using markers, jewels, glitter, and more.

Mighty Minutes #83- Let's Make a Cake
Today we will learn a new rhyme, the students will pretend to make a cake while singing the chant. "Let's make a chocolate fudge cake, just like a baker man. We'll beat the eggs and mix it up as quickly as we can. We'll pat it and we'll ice it and we'll mark it with a [T], and put it in the oven for [Tabitha] and me!"

Let's Make a Salad
Today we will review eating healthy to help make our bodies healthy. We will also discuss how certain fruits such as apples help keep our teeth clean too. We will conclude this lesson with the Choosy song, Let's Make a Salad.

To go along with our Bambi study we will be adding various Bambi related literature to the library area. The students will have the
opportunity to explore/interact with these books throughout the day.

Have you seen Bambi?
Before reading our story, Bambi we will see who has seen or heard of Bambi. We will use the results of this knowledge to give us an insight of our students previous knowledge on the topic. After the question has been answered we will read our story and compare it to the movie.

Nature Animals
Today the students will be making animals using pieces of nature. We will be using various types of nature such as leaves and twigs to go along with the setting of our story, Bambi. Each student will be presented with the items and be asked to create their own type of animal in any way they can think of.

Mighty Minutes #14- Scat Singing
Today we will be learning about and performing scat singing. We will first discuss how scat singing is a different kind of singing because it is composed of sounds instead of words. Our class will create a line using a combination of sounds and ask the students to repeat it. For example, "Bo Bo (echo), Doo boo (echo), Be boo bo
(echo) Bo be doe be doe be (echo)" We will
create various scat songs with the students and jazz it up with different rhythms

Choosy Shuffle
Today we will review why its important to move our bodies in order to be healthy and strong. We will perform some basic exercises we have been learning at school such push ups and running in place. We will conclude this lesson with the Choosy song, Choosy Shuffle.

Dramatic Play Area- Magic Mirror
To go along with our snow white study we will have access to a "magic" mirror in the dramatic play area. The students will have the opportunity to explore this area during free play and small group times.

Question of the Day
What would you wish for if you had a magic apple?
Following our story, Snow White, the students will be asked what they would wish for if they had a magic apple. We will compare the results of the question and discuss why we chose the things that we did. We will also discuss if we think there really is magic apples and what we think people would do if there was.

Today we will be painting magical apples like the one in our story, Snow White. The students will use glitter paint to give the apples a magical look. After the apples are painted the students will explain what they would do if they had a real magic apple.

Today we will be playing a counting exercising game. The students will be asked to complete two and three step actions while
counting out their movements.

Shubert's Big Voice
Today the children will hear the story, "Shubert's Big Voice". We will read the story aloud while questioning and explaining the characters' behaviors/choices. After the story we will discuss the importance of our Shubert story.

Dramatic Play Area- Stuffed deer and rabbit
To go along with our Bambi study we will be adding various woodland animals to the dramatic play area. The students will have the opportunity to explore these animals during free play and small group times.

Question of the Day
What type of animals do you think live in the forest?
Following our story, Bambi, we will be discussing what types of animals we think live in the forest. We will use the pictures from our story to help us answer the question. We will then compare forest animals to other types of animals.

Today the students will be using nature to create trees to go along with our story, Bambi. We will use twigs, leaves, rocks, and other forms of nature to create these trees.

The students will learn a new morning song to the tune of BINGO. "To all of my friends at our preschool, Hello I say to you, H-E-L-L-O, H-E-L-L-O, H-E-L-L-O, hello to all of you!" Ms.Jessica will sing the song first and then have the students join in.

Today we will review different ways we can care for our bodies. We will discuss eating healthy, exercising, getting enough sleep, brushing our teeth, washing our hands, and so on. Our lesson will be concluded with the Choosy song, This is my Body.

Would you want to live with seven dwarfs?
Following our story, Snow White, we will be
discussing if we would want to live with seven dwarfs. We will talk about what we would do with the dwarfs and if our homes would be big enough for that many people. We will also discuss what our dwarfs names would be.

Today we will learn and count along with a new rhyme called Hickory Dickory Dock. "Hickory Dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock. The clock struck [one], the mouse [ran down]. Hickory dickory dock." We will increase the hour each time we repeat the rhyme.
